Within the scope of Enhancing Required Joint Efforts on Climate Action Project (İklimIN), Photography Contest “Your Climate”, organized in cooperation with Photographic Arts Federation of Turkey (TFSF) between April 15th – June 21st, 2019 in order to attract attention to climate change, which is today’s most important global problem, has ended. The jury, consisting of photographers Ali Rıza Akalın, Habip Yanç, Özcan Taras, Aykut Fırat, and the painter and representative of Turkish Republic Ministry of Environment and Urbanisation Füsun Demiray, gathered together on Tuesday, June 25th, and determined 31 works that were awarded the prize, honorable mention and exhibition among the 2290 works sent by 651 photographers. During the jury meeting, TFSF representative Emrah Akyıldız was also present.
According to the officially announced results on Wednesday, June 26, Didem Sevinç Bayazıt’s work “Dried Lake” won the first prize, while Sezgin Uzuncaova’s work “Drought” was awarded second place and Ozan Efeoğlu’s “Flood” was third. Honorable Mention awards were given to Oğuz İpçi’s work “Snow in Spring”, Cengizhan Türkoğlu’s “Trash” and Hakkı Bulun’s “Searching for Food”.
The photographs obtained as a result of the contest, where 25 works were entitled to be exhibited, will be displayed in photo exhibitions to be held in Istanbul, Ankara, Izmir, Antalya, Bordum, Gaziantep, Kocaeli, Samsun during July and August.
First prize: Didem Sevinç Bayazıt’s “Dried Lake”
Second prize: Sezgin Uzuncaova’s “Drought”
Third prize: Ozan Efeoğlu’s “Flood”
