First Climate Change Training Held in Samsun
The first of the trainings planned to be organized in 20 provinces in order to raise awareness on the local scale and capacity building in our country was held in Samsun within the scope of Enhancing Required Joint Efforts on Climate Action Project (İklimIN) carried out by Turkish Republic Ministry of Environment and Urbanisation within the framework of financial cooperation between European Union and Turkey.
Representatives of relevant public institutions and organizations, development agencies, universities, non-governmental organizations and local administrations operating in Samsun, as well as representatives of various institutions and organizations and NGOs from Çorum, Tokat and Ordu participated in the training held in Samsun between April 3-5, 2019. The participants received trainings on various subjects such as “Elements of Turkey’s Fight Against Climate Change”, “Climate Policy of Turkey”, “The Role of Climate Change in Ecological Systems”, “Economic and Social Impacts of Climate-Based Disaster”, “Scientific Basis of Climate Change”, “Interaction between Climate Change and Turkey’s Agriculture” and “Effects of Climate Change on Human Health” within the scope of the three-day training.
