The 2nd Awareness Visit of the “Project for Enhancing Awareness of Female Labour force for Agricultural System in a Changing Climate” carried out by Boğaziçi University and with the participation of Rize Municipality, and supported within the scope of the “Grant Program of Capacity Development in the Field of Climate Change in Turkey”, was held on March 22, 2018 in Rize İsmail Kahraman Culture Centre.
The event started with a moment of silence and the Turkish National Anthem.
Then, Mustafa BALTACI, Head of Plan and Project Department of Rize Municipality, gave general information about the project and made a brief speech about the content of the 2nd visit.
After this speech, the project coordinator Prof. Dr. Levent KURNAZ made an evaluation of the 1st visit, together with the participants in the first visit, following his explanations emphasizing the importance of the project, and gave new participants detailed information about the content of the project and what was discussed during the 1st visit.
During the first session of the event, which attracted over 150 participants, Prof. Dr. Levent KURNAZ gave information about general and regional climate change.
In the second session, Prof. Dr. Levent KURNAZ, who focused on the effects of the climate change, enlightened the participants especially on agricultural affectability and contributed to increase the capacities of them by answering the questions in detailed. Prof. Dr. Levent KURNAZ stated that there will be awareness visits in Rize again and in Çanakkale within the scope of the project. The event ended after the project coordinator Prof. Dr. Levent KURNAZ and project specialists Nazan AN and Tufan TURP were presented with gifts and collective photo shoot.
