Enhancing Required Joint Efforts on Climate Action Project prepared by the project team of Akçadağ Municipality has been entitled to be supported within the scope of the grant program. Within the framework of the project, the “Project for Mitigating Greenhouse Gas Emission in Akçadağ” prepared by Akçadağ Municipality took place in the first 5 projects throughout Turkey prepared by district municipalities.
The municipality stated that the aim of the project is to raise awareness among the people living in the district on recycling, to provide guidance on the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions for farm owners and employees and to carry out afforestation activities with the project partner Akçadağ Mukhtars Association.
Akçadağ Mayor Ali Kazgan stated that the “Project for Mitigating Greenhouse Gas Emission in Akçadağ” prepared by project team of the municipality, which is the first project of Akçadağ Municipality within the scope of the EU grant project works, has been entitled to receive grant. Having stated that the opening of the project was held in Ankara with the participation of Mehmet Özhaseki, the Minister of Environment and Urbanisation, Kazgan toured the project booths together with the Minister Özhaseki, NTV Newsreader Simge Fıstıkoğlu, NTV Meteorology Editor Gökhan Abur and Head of EU Delegation to Turkey Ambassador Christian Berger. “I would like to thank the project team who made the necessary efforts in the preliminary and subsequent stages of our project, and wish Akçadağ Mukhtars Association, the District Directorate of Agriculture and the Head of District Chamber of Agriculture, who will help us carry out the activities during this project, good luck,” said Kazgan.
Mayor Kazgan said that they will continue to work for the EU projects and grants in the future as Akçadağ Municipality.
