Trainings on Climate Change, organized in 17 provinces within the scope of Enhancing Required Joint Efforts on Climate Action Project carried out by Turkish Republic Ministry of Environment and Urbanisation within the framework of financial cooperation between European Union and Turkey, were held in Adana this week. During the training held between 12-14 November, specialists and academicians made presentations on “Elements and International Aspects of Fight against Climate Change”, “Energy Policies”, “Local Climate Action Plan”, “Effects of Climate Change on Human Health”, “Climate Change and Agriculture”.
Trainings will be held in 20 provinces
Representatives of relevant public institutions and organizations, development agencies, universities, NGOs and local administrations operating in Adana, Mersin, Kahramanmaraş and Osmaniye participated in the training. At the end of the trainings, it is planned to reach nearly one thousand participants in 20 provinces in total.
Speaking about the project, Zeynep Zaimoğlu, Lecturer of Çukurova University Environmental Engineering Department, said that they aim to raise awareness on climate change and adaptation, and increase communication among institutions. “We all started to see the impact of climate change at every stage of our lives. We are also experiencing the effects of this change. Our main goal is to create awareness in order to better adapt this process” said Zaimoğlu.
