Climate Week Events were held between June 5-7, 2018 in order to raise awareness about climate change within the framework of the project “Better Futures with Enhanced Capacity and Awareness on Climate Change” carried out by the Provincial Directorate of Planning and Coordination and the Bureau of European Union and Foreign Relations within the scope of the “Grant Program of Capacity Development in the Field of Climate Change in Turkey” funded by the European Union, published by Central Finance and Contracting Unit, and of which main beneficiary is the Ministry of Environment and Urbanisation.
In this context, a booth was opened with the project partners at the celebrations in Cumhuriyet Square to promote and disseminate the project, raise awareness on climate change and environmental protection on June 5, World Environment Day.
During the ceremony attended by Deputy Governor, Mayor, members of the protocol, students, NGOs and a large number of environmental volunteers, bike helmets and knee pads were distributed by Bilecik Representative Office of Cyclist Association, which is the participant of the project.
Again, this week, the booth was opened with the Governor’s Office and partners in the city centre (Kayı Plaza Shopping Center) and the project was introduced.
On the last day of the event, the school designed and painted under the project was visited by the project team and the Deputy Governor.
