Project Purpose :

To raise awareness and manage perceptions on the changing climate as well as the emerging requirements to combat and/or adapt to the change; to contribute to societal/institutional capacities within DEU community to tackle with climate change; to develop and specialize a research agenda through efforts for improving the resilience to climate change.

 

Activities/ Outputs :

1. A renewed vision and a mission statement of DEU which is oriented towards sustainability and climate change content will be prepared.
2. First version of written CAP for DEU and first version of written SAP for DEU will be prepared.
3. First CO2 footprint calculation for DEU buildings and community will be made.
4. 1 National Conference will be conducted.
5. 5000 students, 400 academics, 400 officers, 100 stakeholders will be trained at the end of the period.
6. Two meetings on the planning, execution and control of the actions to climate change and sustainability will be conducted.
7. A common course, module, project for undergraduates will be prepared and submitted to the Board for the entire programme.
8. A multi-disciplinary graduate programme will be submitted to the Council of Higher Education (YÖK).
9. The project report will be prepared and used as a full package of consultancy tool by all Turkish universities, at least 3 academic articles will be written on this applied research field.
10. A Youtube channel and a twitter account will be opened.
11. One permanent website of sustainability office, web.deu.edu.tr/surdurulebilirlikofisi will be opened.
